yoga for runners
workshop
with Emily Scott
Sunday 30th July &
Sunday 10th September
2-4pm
Nothing beats the adrenaline rush of a good, long run, but we know that running can take a toll on the body over time. From tight hip flexors and hamstrings to sore feet and knees, running can shorten certain muscle groups and add strain to some joints. But, thankfully, yoga is an excellent complement to running!
In this workshop, you will learn useful stretches specifically for runners to prevent strain and aid injury recovery. You will be led through a yoga sequence tailored to the needs of runners, and end with deeply relaxing restorative yoga postures that you can also use at home.
Your teacher:
Emily is a senior yoga teacher who has been practicing yoga for over 20 years and teaching for 10. She has guest lectured at the University of Brighton in their sports science department on the importance of yoga and stretching for elite athletes.
This workshop is appropriate for all levels and will be tailored towards runners who have never done any yoga.
