Yoga for Runners
19th June 2:30-4:30pm
With Anna MacMahon
Running the Brighton half this year? Planning your LSR/LSD on Saturday morning? Recently tried couch to 5k? Park run your thing? Tried running once and you kinda liked it?
Running and yoga are complementary practices which both support movement, breath and the mind.
Focusing on the main muscle groups used during running, this extended flow to restore class will include both dynamic vinyasa flow and more calming sequences, with time for relaxing, restoring and rejuvenating.
In this workshop, you will learn key yoga postures that you can incorporate into your pre and post running routine, as well as breath techniques to support you. One yoga workshop won’t make you a better runner, but maybe some of the tools of this ancient practice can serve to support your running both physically and mentally.
For Anna, yoga and running have both been meditative practices to turn to as a sanctuary from the busy-ness of life, and she aims to share the love of both with you in this workshop.
